BATTLEGROUND STATES:

🗳️ Michigan: DASS spent over $3 million to re-elect Secretary Jocelyn Benson in 2022. During her time in office, she has shown her commitment by supporting the passing of the Michigan Voting Rights Act and providing election guidelines to ensure every vote is counted – helping enfranchise hundreds of thousands of Michiganders. She not only fought for voters’ rights, she also fought for the safety of election workers to protect them from violence at the polls.

With Secretary Benson running for Governor in 2026, this is a key open seat to protect for DASS. Senator Elissa Slotkin won her incredibly tight race by 20,217 votes or 0.3% — and the record election turnout in the state that made this victory possible was a direct result of Secretary Benson’s pro-voter reforms.

🗳️ Georgia: DASS’ top pick-up opportunity next year is in Georgia, where President Trump won in 2024 by a little over 2 points and Senator Ossoff is up for re-election.

DASS aggressively targeted Georgia in 2022 – and with Democrats’ recent success in the state, and with the seat now open, we know there’s fertile opportunity here as well in 2026. Georgia was ground zero for election interference by Trump and his cronies in 2020 which is all the more reason for us to field a strong Democratic nominee for Secretary of State next year.
