Beau Bayh (D)
Beau Bayh is a seventh-generation Hoosier who was raised to believe public service means serving people – not a party or yourself. That belief led him to join the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as an Infantry Officer, rose to Captain, and supported America’s response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as part of Project Maven. He also trained allied forces in South America before his honorable discharge in 2023.
After his service, Beau earned his law degree from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Business Law Review. A former Division I athlete and Government major at Harvard College, he’s worked for Cummins Engines, Barnes & Thornburg LLP, and as a Judicial Law Clerk for Judge David F. Hamilton on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Guided by the values he learned as a Marine, Beau is running for Secretary of State to clean up corruption, end waste, and restore integrity to Indiana government.
Blythe Potter (D)

Blythe Potter, a U.S. Army veteran, small business owner, and lifelong Hoosier, is running for Indiana Secretary of State to restore trust, protect every vote, and make state government work for all Hoosiers. Her service to the country and community – from eight years in the Military Police Corps, including deployment in Baghdad, to running her successful wellness business in Bargersville – has shaped her commitment to leadership, integrity, and practical problem-solving.
Blythe has seen firsthand how voter suppression, poor communication, and outdated systems discourage participation, and she is committed to modernizing the Secretary of State’s Office to ensure every voice is heard. Visiting all 92 counties, she aims to bring people together across party lines, strengthen democracy, and make government responsive to the needs of families, small businesses, and voters across Indiana.
Diego Morales (R)
Diego Morales is a prominent figure in advancing election denialism and implementing policies that suppress voter participation. During his 2022 campaign, Morales aligned himself with the “America First Secretary of State Coalition,” a group known for promoting false claims about the 2020 presidential election. He expressed “deep skepticism” about the election’s legitimacy, referring to it as a “sham.”
In office, Morales has promoted measures that would restrict voter participation, such as adding obstacles to mail-in voting. He also supports increased law enforcement presence at polling places, a move that could greatly increase voter intimidation.
David Shelton (R)
Knox County Clerk David Shelton has repeatedly embraced baseless 2020 election conspiracy theories, stating that “100,000 votes cast at 3 a.m. for Biden” “just doesn’t pass the smell test,” and expressing doubt that President Biden legitimately received 81 million votes.
As a county election official, he admitted to encountering and fueling misleading narratives when he warned of election “enthusiasts” who believe the system is “rigged,” despite Indiana’s resounding support for Trump in 2020.
Jamie Reitenour (R)
Jamie Reitenour is a political newcomer whose campaign appears rooted more in personal ambition than experience. Framing herself as a “Hoosier mom” inspired by the 2024 gubernatorial race, Reitenour has positioned her candidacy around vague goals like ‘increasing voter engagement among college students,’ but offers little in the way of concrete policy or administrative expertise.
