WASHINGTON – Today, the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State (DASS) unveiled a record-breaking fundraising total of over $600,000, demonstrating substantial growth in grassroots support and donor engagement. The figure more than doubles what the committee raised in Q1 of 2023 and puts the committee and its affiliated organizations on track to surpass the record $32M raised by these groups during the 2022 midterm cycle.

“Americans see Donald Trump and the GOP’s assault on democracy for what it is – and they’re ready to stop it,” said DASS Interim Executive Director Andrew Godinich. “From big wins in Wisconsin to surging donor enthusiasm in 2025, the message is clear: democracy wins. With historic support from voters nationwide, DASS is ready to break records this cycle.”

DASS’s impressive haul demonstrates the increasing enthusiasm for its mission to protect democracy amidst an onslaught of attacks from the second Trump administration. DASS’s total number of donations in Q1 was over 14,000, with a donor base of nearly 10,000 and an average donation size of just $42 as hardworking Americans chip in what they can to protect our democracy. Even as other progressive organizations have struggled to capture donor grassroots enthusiasm in recent years, DASS has consistently broken grassroots funding records

DASS enters Q2 well-positioned to ramp up efforts for the 2025-26 cycle, capitalizing on grassroots enthusiasm and the current environment to deliver down-ballot victories across the map.
