DASS on the Firing of Chris Krebs
The Democratic Association of Secretaries of State (DASS) released the following statement on the firing of Chris Krebs, DHS cyber security Chief.
By DASS Chair and California Secretary of State Alex Padilla:
“We denounce President Trump’s firing of Chris Krebs. Chris Krebs spoke truth to power, the 2020 elections were safe, secure and legitimate. While this is expected behavior from an increasingly erratic Trump, let’s be clear, his actions are dangerous and only work to weaken our democracy and our national security.”
Chris Krebs has been an accessible, reliable partner to State Secretaries of State from across the country, regardless of party. We owe him a debt of gratitude for his partnership and work to secure the 2018 and the 2020 elections. Our election infrastructure is more secure than ever, despite the attacks and lies coming from the White House.”
