DASS Statement on Donald Trump’s Latest Legal Defeat
Washington, D.C. – Democratic Association of Secretaries of State Chair Cisco Aguilar released the following statement in reaction to another court decision rejecting Donald Trump’s unconstitutional attempts to interfere in our elections following reports that courts have rejected his latest executive order on voting.
“Again and again, Democratic Secretaries have shown Donald Trump that the Constitution is very clear: the President does not administer our elections and the President should not choose his own voters. Whatever comes next, what will not change is that our Democratic Secretaries of States will use every tool we have to protect the right to run our elections at the local level, and the ability of our voters to lawfully participate. Two court victories in two days shows how important it is that Democratic Secretaries of State get the support they need to fight on behalf of voters to exercise their constitutional rights.”
