WASHINGTON D.C. — This morning, CNN reported that Mark Finchem, Republican nominee for Arizona Secretary of State, kept a ‘Treason Watch List’ and posted about stockpiling ammunition on social media. The list included prominent public officials like Janet Napolitano, the former Arizona Governor and Department of Homeland Security Secretary. In response to the revelations, Semedrian Smith, deputy executive director of the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State (DASS), issued the following statement:
“Mark Finchem has a long history of associating with violent separatists and white nationalists. As a self-described member of the Oath Keepers who marched on the Capitol on January 6th, Arizonans should be worried about putting Finchem in charge of our elections. The fact that he kept a ‘Treason Watch List’ is chilling.”
