WASHINGTON D.C. — After Gregg Amore secured the Democratic nomination for Rhode Island Secretary of State, Semedrian Smith, deputy executive director of the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State (DASS), issued the following statement:

“Gregg Amore is an educator with a passion for public service and civic engagement. In the General Assembly, Gregg worked to expand voter access, defend abortion rights, and reduce gun violence. He will fight to protect our right to vote, will use the office to increase voter participation, and will continue to break down barriers that keep Rhode Islanders from the polls. He has the courage to stand up to election deniers and those who would threaten to hold our democracy hostage. Gregg Amore offers the bold vision and leadership that Rhode Islanders deserve.”
