WASHINGTON D.C. — After it was announced that Julie Anderson will advance to the November ballot, Kim Rogers, executive director of the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State (DASS), issued the following statement:

“Julie Anderson’s record speaks for itself: she is not the candidate that Washington needs nor deserves as Secretary of State. As Pierce County Auditor, she sent out dozens of flawed ballots to out-of-state military voters, left over a hundred ballots in a storage room tub for months, and misled voters about when they needed to return their ballots. With a record underscored by sloppy work, Julie Anderson proves her inability to maintain a healthy democracy in Washington.”
