WASHINGTON D.C. — After Steve Hobbs secured the Democratic nomination for Washington Secretary of State, Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, Chair of the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State (DASS) released the following statement:

“Steve Hobbs has been a champion of free and fair elections. Steve’s unique perspective as Washington’s first Secretary of State of color informs his commitment to creating safe and accessible pathways to the ballot box for all voters, regardless of what they look like.

“As a lieutenant of the Washington Army National Guard – with 30 years of experience, including two tours in Kosovo and Iraq – he understands the importance of preserving and strengthening American democracy. Sec. Hobbs’ stalwart efforts to combat election disinformation, improve Washington’s election cybersecurity, and ensure that every eligible Washingtonian can easily register to vote demonstrates his dedication to safeguarding our elections system and standing up to those who seek to erode democracy.”
