WASHINGTON – Trump Targets ActBlue
Today, President Trump signed a presidential memorandum targeting ActBlue, a nonprofit platform that empowers grassroots donors. This move marks yet another example of the administration using federal power to suppress Trump’s political opponents.
DASS Interim Executive Director Andrew Godinich released the following statement in response:
“Donald Trump’s memorandum targeting ActBlue is his latest disturbing move to weaponize the federal government against his political opponents, tilt the playing field in his favor, and undermine the integrity of our democracy.
“By constraining one of the nation’s most widely used political fundraising tools, this administration would undermine the principle that every voice—regardless of means—matters. Democracy thrives when the playing field is open to all—regardless of whether or not they agree with Donald Trump. That’s what DASS will continue to fight for every American.”
