WISCONSIN

Retaining Wisconsin's Secretary of State seat helps safeguard our elections and ensures that voters' rights remain protected at the state level.

JoCasta Zamarripa (D)

JoCasta Zamarripa, a lifelong Milwaukeean and dedicated public servant, is running for Wisconsin Secretary of State to fight for working families and strengthen our democracy. Born and raised on the city’s south side, JoCasta has spent her career delivering real results – expanding affordable housing, reforming small business licensing, and championing community development – while breaking historic barriers as the first Latina and openly LGBTQ+ member of both the Wisconsin State Legislature and the Milwaukee Common Council.

Now running statewide, JoCasta brings deep legislative experience, strong community roots, and a clear vision for a fairer Wisconsin. She is committed to protecting and expanding access to our elections, ensuring every voice is heard, and using the Secretary of State’s office to support schools, housing, and families across all 72 counties. JoCasta believes Wisconsin works best when government invests in its people and leaves no community behind.

Nathan Pollnow (R)

Nathan Pollnow is running under the guise of “transparency” and “access,” but his campaign rhetoric is deeply troubling. He repeatedly frames government as corrupt and dishonest, positioning himself as a populist crusader while undermining trust in public institutions. His focus on “disseminating records” and “cutting through bureaucratic nonsense” is a thin veil for a broader agenda of politicizing the Secretary of State’s office, which is supposed to serve as a nonpartisan guardian.

Pollnow’s messaging repeatedly targets Democrats and elected officials as villains, suggesting that the office should act as a partisan watchdog rather than a neutral custodian of the state’s records. His emphasis on controlling information and “bringing control back to the people” echoes narratives that have been used elsewhere to sow confusion and limit access. While he claims to champion accountability, his campaign risks turning the office into a tool for political maneuvering.
