“Today, on their fourth try, House Republicans chose far-right extremist and election denier Mike Johnson as their Speaker. Their choice proves that they are the party of misinformation and conspiracy theories, and it reminds us that the stakes in 2024 have never been higher.
Mike Johnson was a ringleader in the fight to destabilize our democracy and laid the groundwork for January 6th. We need Secretaries of State to defend democracy now more than ever.”
