Following President Biden’s call for democracy reform in his joint address to Congress, Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, Chair of the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State (DASS) released the following statement:
“As Democratic Secretaries of State, we applaud President Biden for speaking to the urgency of protecting and expanding voting rights as he addressed Congress tonight. We must defeat the coordinated attacks on access to the ballot box taking place in states across the country, and that includes passing sweeping democracy reforms like the For the People Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. While Secretaries of State continue to use every tool available to protect the vote of all eligible citizens, we hope Congress will do its part and meet this call to action.”
